Created by the artist Claude Monet the garden has two distinct sections - the Flower garden created around the Grande Allee and its side paths, and and the Water garden. Inspired by the landscapes in Japanese prints Monet transformed the meadowland below the flower garden, diverting the River Ru and building the famous Japanese Bridge., plus five other Bridges.
